About You / What We Are Looking For


We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary full-time Accounting Clerk II to join our team of professionals in the Financial Services division of the Finance and Legal Department. If you thrive in a deadline driven environment, enjoy building strong work relationships, have a keen eye for detail and if you are eager to tackle and solve problems, you are just who we are looking for! 

 

In this position, your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Processing of all DCC/ACC charges that the City calculates including the associated securities for future installments, processing non-DCC/ACC securities releases (letters of credit and surety bonds), supporting with complex accounts payable procedures and tasks and completing monthly account reconciliations. You will also review and assist in the development and implementation of new or revised processes and procedures.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to work well in an environment of competing priorities, exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative, and have effective time management and organizational skills, while working collaboratively in a team setting.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Completion of grade 12 plus successful completion of at least two years of post-secondary education in a recognized accounting program are required in addition to a minimum of 3 years related work experience in a professional setting.  Public sector experience will be considered an asset.  An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience in a municipal finance environment is considered an asset.

This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $33.09 - $38.87 per hour (2025 rates) plus 6% in lieu of benefits. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
