About You / What We Are Looking For
The Arena & Building Service Worker is the perfect role for a team player with working knowledge of operating ice making, refrigeration and resurfacing equipment. The ideal candidate will have skills in working with materials, methods and equipment used in janitorial and building maintenance, and will be able to perform a variety of building and equipment maintenance duties and repairs. You will be working under minimal supervision, and will have the ability to exercise independent judgment when dealing with teams and the public. If you would like the opportunity to use your ice making and refrigeration skills, while working with the public, various teams and user groups, this position is for you!
Successful candidates will be required to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), and will also need to be available to work daytime, afternoon, evening, as well as graveyard shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10.
- Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.
- Designated St. John's First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
- 5th Class Power Engineer Refrigeration Endorsement or Ice Facility Operator Certificate.
- Related experience in iceman and janitorial work. Please note that an equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Courses in icemaking would be an asset.
- Experience driving a Zamboni would be an asset.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $29.87 - $35.05. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
