About You / What We Are Looking For

 

We are currently seeking self-motivated, responsible and well-organized Cashier Clerks to work in our Revenue Services division for the summer months.  The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  checking and approving various applications; receiving and preparing tax, utility and other payments for processing; providing excellent customer service both in person and by telephone; batch balancing, filing, clerical work and other related duties while supporting the needs of a busy department.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

The ideal candidates will have completed grade 12 supplemented by business administration or accounting courses plus some previous office experience preferably in related clerical or cashier work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Must be available to work shifts between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday to Friday.  Scheduling flexibility may be required, including travel to and working from multiple locations.

Preferred Qualifications

 

You should possess basic accounting knowledge; fast, accurate calculator and data entry skills; solid cash handling skills; prior experience dealing with the public; be customer service oriented; and have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently when required.  Prior municipal experience and/or experience using Tempest software would be an asset.

 

What We Offer:

 

This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $31.77 - $37.32 plus 12 % in lieu of benefits. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
