About You / What We Are Looking For
Based within the Design and Construction division
of the Engineering and Public Works Department, this Engineering Inspector 2
position will be focused on ensuring contractors’ compliance with approved
plans and contract documents, specifications, city regulations and bylaw
provisions, and ensure that contractors follow “good neighbour” practices. You
will use your civil construction expertise to read and interpret construction
plans for utility and road projects. You will review and interpret specifications,
and drawings, and prepare accurate reports and records.
The successful candidate will be confident with
communicating with contractors and working with residents to address emerging
issues in a responsive manner. Considerable independent judgement and action is
exercised on a daily basis.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will at a minimum
successfully have completed grade 12, supplemented by technical courses related
to the work performed plus considerable related experience preferably as an
Engineering Inspector 1; Or an equivalent combination of training and
experience.
Preferred
Qualifications
Certification as a Public Works Inspector 2 (Public
Works Inspectors Society) would be considered an asset.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has
an hourly rate range of $40.49 - $47.67. The rate of
pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge,
experience and skills.
