About You / What We Are Looking For

The City of Coquitlam is seeking a forward-thinking and strategic technology leader to join our team as Manager, Information, Communications & Technology (ICT)—a pivotal role in shaping the digital future of one of Metro Vancouver’s fastest-growing cities.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead a talented team of 25 professionals and oversee the City’s ICT infrastructure operations, application services and client services roadmap. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader who thrives on collaboration, drives transformation, and is passionate about using technology to enhance public service delivery and community outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction across ICT infrastructure operations, application services and client services.
  • Champion the development and implementation of innovative technologies that align with Council’s strategic vision and business priorities.
  • Oversee the City’s network, systems operations, and enterprise applications, ensuring seamless integration across departments and platforms.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of new systems, applications, and infrastructure investments.
  • Develop and maintain ICT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure operational excellence and security.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders—including Council, senior leadership, and industry partners—to drive impactful technology initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be meticulously considered.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in relevant roles, with a proven history of delivering outstanding results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience leading change in a public sector environment.
  • Leading organizational wide digital strategy and innovation initiatives.

What We Offer

This excluded position has an annual salary range of $168,338 - $189,357.  The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.

Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in a flex day program. This position is based in Coquitlam. The City offers an attractive vacation and extended benefits package, including the ability to contribute to the Municipal Pension Plan.
