About You / What We Are Looking For
We are currently seeking one temporary full-time (up to four months) and
up to two auxiliary/on call Parking Patrol Officers to join our Community
Safety department. This position entails regulatory and enforcement work to
ensure compliance with City Street & Traffic Bylaw parking regulations. The
work entails extensive public relations and liaison tasks in which the
incumbent exercises independent judgement, action and tact, all of which is
performed within policy and bylaw regulations limits. You will require
considerable knowledge of City bylaw regulations and the legality of various
types of evidence. You will exercise powers of a Peace Officer by issuing
parking tickets and other municipal tickets as required.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful incumbent will have minimally completed grade 12
education as well as possess sound experience in regulatory, investigational
and enforcement work or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A
valid and acceptable BC Class 5 Driver’s License is a requirement for this
position.
Preferred
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have
completed the Bylaw 1 course from the Justice Institute of BC (JIBC), or
equivalent coursework.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has
an hourly rate range of $31.77 - $37.32. The rate of
pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge,
experience and skills.

Non-standard
work week with hours scheduled between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm.
This TFT position will be on a Tuesday to Saturday schedule with shifts between
the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. These shift schedules are subject to
change due to operational needs.
