About You / What We Are Looking For

Are you a detail-oriented and organized leader who enjoys improving systems and supporting teams? Do you enjoy learning and adapting to new software platforms? We’re looking for a Parks Operations Control Supervisor to play a key role in helping our parks run smoothly and efficiently.

In this role, you’ll provide both administrative and supervisory support. You’ll be responsible for managing and improving the parks maintenance management system, assisting with budget planning and cost tracking, preparing resource and maintenance plans, supervising staff who handle clerical and technical system work, and respond to complex customer inquiries and service requests. You’ll also support parks operations teams and the important work being done in and around Coquitlam parks.

You’ll be part of a dedicated team that plays a key role in supporting daily operations, improving systems, and keeping our parks safe, accessible, and welcoming for the community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by commercial and/or technical courses related to office or system administration
  • Experience with maintenance management systems or similar software
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills
  • Ability to analyze data and support budget management
  • Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with parks operations and resource planning
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • A valid BC Driver’s Licence is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising staff would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working in a municipal or public sector environment, particularly in parks or public works would be considered an asset
  • Experience with municipal bylaws, policies, and procedures related to parks and infrastructure would be considered an asset.
  • Certificate or diploma in public administration, business administration, parks management, or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Technical training related to computerized maintenance management systems would be considered an asset..
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for data tracking, Word for reports, Outlook for communications, PowerPoint for presentations) would be considered an asset.
  • Strong typing and data entry experience with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail would be considered an asset.
  • Experience formatting reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence in a professional setting would be considered an asset.

 

What We Offer:

 

This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $42.16- $49.76. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
