About You / What We Are Looking For
- We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable individual with a strong foundation in landscape architecture, including a thorough understanding of landscape construction methods, materials, and park operations. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing conceptual and detailed designs, specifications, and cost estimates, as well as managing budgets for parks development projects. You should be able to effectively supervise technical staff and consultants, conduct research on technical and environmental matters, and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You have a proven ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary project team, communicate complex ideas and make sound recommendations to supervisors as well as a solid understanding of municipal policies, procedures, and departmental functions, along with the ability to plan, and organize deliverables effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in parks planning, land use planning, landscape architecture or related discipline and minimum 1-year professional experience in parks planning.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects, or the Planning Institute of British Columbia.
- Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of B.C.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in landscape architecture or related discipline with 3-5 years professional experience in parks planning within a municipal environment.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $51.87 - $61.29. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.

Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off program. This position is based in Coquitlam with some flexible, hybrid work options available.
