About You / What We Are Looking For
The City of Coquitlam is looking for enthusiastic
and outgoing Program Attendants to share their passion for skating through
public sessions and learn to skate lessons.
This position will work on ice as well as in the skate shop. As a
Program Attendant, you will be responsible for general skate shop duties,
customer service, crowd control and skate patrol. You will be directing on-ice traffic flow and
conducting organized activities while ensuring a fun and safe environment for
all patrons during public skate sessions.
We are seeking candidates who have great people skills and the ability
to work efficiently and thrive in a fast-paced service environment!
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a current Standard or Emergency
First Aid and CPR ‘C’ certification as well as a strong skating background. Candidates
must also have experience dealing with the public.
We accept first aid certifications
issued by the following training providers:

Canadian Ski Patrol
·
Heart & Stroke
·
WorkSafe BC
·
Lifesaving Society
·
St John’s Ambulance
·
Red Cross
In order to meet the needs of our community,
candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Preferred
Qualifications
Some assets for the position are the following:
·
Experience sharpening skates and
assisting others with fitting skates/helmets
·
Previous work experience in a
related role involving skate shop duties, skate patrol or providing on-ice
assistance
·
Experience with a recreation
registration software such as Xplor Recreation
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has
an hourly rate of $24.37 (2025 rates) + 12% in
lieu.
You will
