About You / What We Are Looking For
The City of Coquitlam is looking to hire Recreation
Instructors to support gymnastics instruction for Early Years and Children
across various recreational facilities within Coquitlam.
In these essential positions, you will be
responsible for planning, implementing and leading gymnastics activities for
early years and school aged children.
The successful candidates will be responsible for safe and proper use of
equipment and facilities and taking independent action and initiative in
leading and instructing assigned programs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Team player with excellent
communication and people skills.
- Enthusiastic, personable,
energetic and outgoing, and have a passion for engaging with members of the
community.
- Experience leading recreation
programs in a municipal setting for children/early years in gymnastics.
- Flexibly available to work
mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Shifts are varied throughout the
year and programs run out of different facilities in the City.
Preferred Qualifications
- Other applicable
certifications such as High Five, ECE and NCCP.
- Valid BC Drivers License or
equivalent is preferred.
- Valid current First Aid and
CPR ‘C’ certifications from an accepted agency (see below).
We accept Emergency, Standard, or Occupational
First Aid certifications with CPR-C issued by the following agencies ONLY:
- Lifesaving Society
- St John’s Ambulance
- Red Cross
What
We Offer:
This position has an hourly rate starting at $25.48 - $31.28/hour plus an additional 4% in lieu. Prep-time is
compensated in addition to teaching time. The rate of pay is based on a
variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
