About You / What We Are Looking For

The City of Coquitlam is excited to announce a new opportunity for a Strategic Analyst to join our Planning & Development Business Services and Innovation team. As a senior member of the team, the Strategic Analyst will provide well-researched recommendations to drive informed decision-making, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of innovation. This role requires specialized expertise in conducting research for local government programs, services, and policies, including the interpretation of relevant bylaws, procedures, and regulations. The Strategic Analyst will develop comprehensive recommendations that align with established best practices and applicable legislation, analyze outcomes, and provide actionable suggestions to management for Council’s consideration.

This role requires considerable independent judgement in designing and implementing research methodologies to identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, industry best practices and trends in order to meet operational and program objectives. 

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a passion for research, policy, analysis and strategic planning.  The candidate will have graduated university in administration, business management, statistics or other related field. Other certifications such as local government administration, project management or lean six sigma methodology is considered an asset. Any other related experience, preferably in a public sector; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is considered an asset.

What We Offer:

The CUPE role offers an hourly rate of $56.34 - $66.72, an excellent benefits package and the opportunity to take part in the City’s earned day off program. This position is based in Coquitlam with some flexible, hybrid work options available. 

You will have the chance to join a rapidly growing and diverse team dedicated to supporting the local community, and be able to engage in variety of learning and development opportunities. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off/flex day program. This position is based in Coquitlam with some flexible, hybrid work options available.
