About You / What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Regular Full-time Sub Foreman – Mowing to join our
Landscape division team. The Sub Foreman – Mowing position supervises a
team engaged in mowing and related lawn maintenance tasks. This position maintains
lawns and grass areas and assists in installing, repairing and maintaining
irrigation and drainage systems. The Sub Foreman – Mowing also observes
potential passive turf problems and drives a light truck to transport crew,
equipment and materials used in the work.
As a Sub Foreman – Mowing, you will supervise and assist staff
performing mowing and lawn maintenance duties, and will observe and advise on
potential passive turf problems. Further, you will be able to utilize mowing
equipment safely and efficiently. If you have a passion for using tools and
equipment, while in a Supervisor capacity, we look forward to your application!
Qualifications
- Completed at least 10th grade
education.
- Completed a course in passive
turf health or maintenance, combined with sound experience in ride-on mowing
equipment and related parks operations OR an equivalent combination of training
and experience.
- Class 5 Driver’s License for
the Province of British Columbia is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma in Turf Management
and/or an Irrigation Certificate would be an asset.
- Prior work experience with
large ride-on lawn mowers (zero turn; articulated; rear street; Ventrac; John
Deere; Kubota; etc.) would be an asset.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $37.15
(2025 rates).
