Our Coquitlam Parks team also takes care of the landscapes around civic buildings like fire halls, recreation centers, arts centers, and libraries.

Your Role: As a Trades 2 Gardener, you'll report to our awesome Landscape Coordinator and lead a team in various horticultural tasks across city parks, public building grounds, streetscapes, and boulevards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing, and maintaining stunning floral displays.
- Implementing effective weed and pest control measures.
- Overseeing plant care to ensure our green spaces thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team in executing horticultural maintenance tasks.
- Design, install, and maintain floral displays.
- Implement weed and pest control measures.
- Oversee plant care operations.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate tasks for the gardening maintenance team
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 completion.
- Horticultural Trades Qualification, Diploma, or Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the horticulture field.
- Leadership and supervisory experience considered an asset.
- Experience in floral and landscape design considered an asset.
- Journeyman Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent diploma/certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Landscape Integrated Pest Management Certificate (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Valid Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.

This CUPE position has an hourly rate of $46.86 per hour (2025 rates). The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
