About You / What We Are Looking For
The Fleet Division is looking for an experienced Red Seal Certified Mechanic to join our growing team. We are currently recruiting for one Regular Full-Time Mechanic with a Red Seal in Commercial Transport, Heavy Duty, or Automotive. You will have the opportunity to maintain and repair a varied and specialized fleet consisting of approximately 400 vehicles and over 700 pieces of other small equipment. Reporting to the Working Foreman – Garage, you will perform skilled shop and field mechanical work, including diagnostics, maintenance, overhaul, and repair on both automotive and heavy-duty equipment and vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications
Along with a BC Red Seal Certification in Commercial Transport, Heavy Duty, or Automotive Mechanic, the preferred candidate will have at least 5 years of related journeyman experience and a valid Class 3 BC driver’s license with air endorsement. Candidates without a Class 3 with air endorsement may be considered, but would be required to obtain one within 3 months of starting. The successful candidate must also possess a valid CVSE Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspector Certification with air endorsement. Pressure Fuel certification would also be considered an asset. Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to perform complex mechanical and repair work across a wide range of vehicles and equipment are essential.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate of $46.86, plus a temporary market adjustment, for a total rate of $51.11 per hour.
